Description

Tamiya 1:12 Ducati 916

1:12 scale plastic assembly kit. Requires glue and paints to complete.

The Ducati 916 is an Italian sports and racing motorcycle that was first presented to the public in 1994. Its serial production started at the same time and continued until 1998.

The 916 model was developed and put into production to strengthen the company's position in the sports motorcycle segment, as well as to replace the 888 models in the range and on the racetracks. Fabio Taglioni was one of the designers of the new motorcycle. Ducati 916 differed from its predecessor mainly in the power unit, which was the new Ducati Desmoquattro engine - it was a liquid-cooled 2-cylinder engine with a capacity of 114 HP and a capacity of 916 cm3. With a clearly more powerful engine, the 916 was smaller and lighter than the Ducati 888 and had excellent aerodynamic properties. It is also quite widely recognized as one of the most beautiful motorcycles of the 20th century. The Ducati 916 turned out to be a machine that was remarkably above average and refined in almost every field, so it is not surprising that the drivers riding it four times (in 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1998) won the Motorcycle World Championship!
